Pre Holiday

I had a nice surprise, Sarah Mae came home for a quick momma fix. She showed up late Friday night. She and Paul did a Steak n'Shake stop together while I was out playing Nanny. Turns out that BOTH babies were being put to bed when I was arriving. "What", no play time, not singing, chasing, and no sweet rocking time? After I moved passed the disappointment... I found the pizza and red wine; it was a nice evening.
Saturday morning came and went. Really, we all slept till 10 or later! I haven't slept that late in a very long time and can I say how wonderful it was. I cooked up a full breakfast, then Sarah and I headed out for a quick Christmas shop. I hate shopping and my kids know their time is limited, so stay focus, have a mission, and go! We left Paul in cyber land with some new Nintendo game. Guys are so easily amused. :) We returned hours later with big bags of success! The princess will have a good Christmas morning. Paul was in the same spot we left him in, woe. Showers and off to dinner. Sarah took Paul and I went out to a wedding celebration. For those of you heading toward the wedding scene, here's a great idea. Let your kids do the wedding invites (it is their wedding), then after the wedding... you host a wedding celebration party with the new couple and all your friends. It was a good party with tons of food, wine and friends!
Got back to the homeland and we did a movie night. It was Shooters, action fun. Late night, but good to hang out with the kiddies. Sunday morning was a bit rough. Paul had to represent us all at church. Playing in the band, he has to kind-a be there or there's a problem. By the time I was half way into the second pot of coffee, I was ready to go. Again, Sarah wanted home cooking. We did waffles and eggs for brunch. Yum!
Paul had homework (did he ever do this?)... Sarah met up with Bill for dinner. More church time for Paul. I went for a visit with a neighbor and then we were all back in front the TV for one more movie. Tonight is comedy. OMG, Sarah's laugh is contagious! The movie, Hot Rod, was funny but Sarah and Paul in full belly laugh is hilarious. Great stuff!
We caught a bit of the AMA show (while waiting on Paul to show us how to load a movie into the TV). Lady Gaga has completely lost her mind and ridding herself of her talent. It was perhaps inspired by Elton and Madonna, with a big fail as the end result. Somebody hurry and get her meds! Carrie's manager needs to be fired for her putting her in those shoes! Poor girl had a fabulous song and couldn't move in fear of the fall. Ditto on Mary J and J Lo, who actually did wipe out. Ouch! Whitney Houston stepped out for the first time in five years and she "looked fabulous" as she sang without a flaw! This new song may be my new mantra to live by. "I didn't know my own strength"...
